Why do I have to pay my PIP deductible/co-payment when I was not at fault for the accident?

In 1988, the state of New Jersey introduced mandatory PIP (Personal Injury Protection) deductibles and co-payments. These provisions apply regardless of who is at fault for the accident. This is why PIP coverage is sometimes referred to as “No-Fault” Coverage. Any unpaid amounts due to the application of the deductible and/or co-payment can be submitted to your health carrier for consideration, along with a copy of the Explanation of Benefits (EOB).

What is a comprehensive/collision deductible?

A deductible is part of every loss or claim and represents the amount of the loss that you agree to pay if you experience a loss and have a claim.

How do I obtain an estimate prior to repair?

Plymouth Rock offers you choices when you have an accident. We can send an auto claims adjuster to your home, to your office or to wherever your car is towed to appraise the damage. In most cases, we can even write you a check on the spot. Or if you prefer, you can bring your car to one of Plymouth Rock’s Participating Repair Facilities for an estimate.
